Bernard Retali - Chief Executive Officer

Born in 1961 in Montpellier (France), Bernard RETALI has a Master’s degree in business law and is a graduate of CHEA (Centre des Hautes Etudes d'Assurances).

Professional Career

His career begins in 1986 with AZUR Assurances where, after a year of training in Chartres (France), he holds the position of Commercial Manager in Paris for a period of four years.

In 1990, he moves on as International Representative for the company and is responsible for the coordination of the Group’s branches abroad, as well as heading the development project for AZURITALIA, the Italian branch of AZUR Assurances and Credito Emiliano.

In 1995, he becomes General Manager of the Group’s Polish branches.

In 1997, he joins the Crédit Suisse/Winterthur Group as Chief Executive Officer of its Life and Non-Life Insurance Companies in Poland. The companies in the Group experience significant development and in 1999 and 2000, the Life Insurance Company becomes the most dynamic Company in the sector, progressing through an exclusively organic development from eleventh to fifth position in the Polish insurance market.

In 2001, Bernard RETALI becomes Chief Executive Officer of Winterthur Life & Pensions Portugal in Barcelona and heads the strategic projects for Crédit Suisse & Pensions for Spain, Portugal, Italy and Belgium. He also becomes President of the Board of Directors for Crédit Suisse Pensions Fund in the Czech Republic, the first Czech Pensions Trust with a 25% market share.

In 2003, he decides to launch his own activity and creates INOV Finance in Barcelona.

Holds various positions as Board Member in Spain and abroad.

Teaches at the University of Barcelona Pompeu Fabra MBA course “Topics on Corporate Strategy”.

Has written a memorandum for CHEA on “European development of the insurance companies distribution system”.


Father of two children, Benjamin (aged 14) and Clément (aged 7).
